Boho Wall Hanging

So... wall hangings are everywhere now! But... they are expensive! I recently just moved into a new apartment and wanted to add some wall hangings to my room. But because of the price I decided to make my own! And its a little more special if you make something yourself for your room. To me it makes it feel more like home. The theme i'm going for is a bright boho theme, which I will reveal in a later blog post once it is complete! I thought a wall hanging would fit perfectly with the theme. This wall hanging only requires TWO supplies! Yarn... & ...a stick! So lets get started...

I decided to go with an ivory color yarn because I have a lot of color going on in my pillows for my bed. But you can pick out any color yarn that goes with your bedroom or apartment theme. I found this one at Hobby Lobby! This stick is just a stick I found at the beach one day and picked it up because I thought it was really cute and it ended up being perfect for this wall hanging! You can also find simple wooden sticks from Hobby Lobby and Micheal's for under a dollar!

Next, I cut a long enough piece of yarn to fold in half to be the length that I wanted my wall hanging. I separated the pieces of yarn into four pieces of yarn per group. I ended up making six groups of four.

Next, I just tied my group of yarn around the stick and tied it tight to make a knot. And it's as simple as that! Just repeat with each group of yarn making sure the knots end up in the same direction.

Next, I cut a long piece of yarn to tie on both ends of the stick so I can hang it up on my wall! I cut it a little longer just in case so I can see how long I wanted it to be hanging.

After you tie a double knot on both ends you can cut off the excess yarn!

For the Last step, I trimmed the end of the yarn to make a V at the bottom. Its not perfect but I think it adds some character! AND... that is it! A perfect and inexpensive wall hanging! I just hung it up on my wall with a clear command hook and wah lah!
I hope you enjoyed this simple boho wall hanging!
